TRANSPORTATION AND DIRECTIONS
Transportation
Biltmore is about 5-6 miles fom the airport. It costs
less than $20 by cab. Super shuttle from and to the Miami Airport can be
arranged by calling the hotel, Guest Services at x-1780, for a cost of
$9.00 per person.
If you plan to get around, you would need a car. The hotel is located in
a totally residential area, and the nearest commercial buildings are about
one mile away. However, taxi is available at the hotel.
Direction if you Drive
We have provided a
map of a small section of
CORAL GABLES. It shows how to get to the Biltmore Hotel.
Miami Airport is located north of Coral Gables. You have to drive South on
LE JEUNE toward CORAL GABLES. For your convenience, we provide directions:
From Miami Airport to the Biltmore Hotel:
1) Take exit for LE JEUNE South towards Coral Gables. This is within
1/4 mile of the last airport terminal.
2) Drive about 2-3 miles before you get to the CORAL WAY near downtown
Coral Gables. Some streets and landmarks along the way are W. FLAGLER
Street, S.W. 8th Street, and a Holiday Inn on your left less than 1/4
mile from CORAL WAY.
3) Turn right on CORAL WAY to go West for less than 1.5 miles until you get
to GRANADA Ave.
4) Turn Left on GRANADA and go less than 1/2 mile to a circle (with an Old
Fountain). Take DE SOTO which is to the right of the continuation
of GRANADA. This takes you right to the Biltmore Hotel. Alternatively, if
you miss DE SOTO, and continue on GRANDA, turn right at ANASTASIA which
is the 5th street after the circle (you pass CATALONIA and MALAGA before
getting to ANASTASIA).
ATENTION:
MOST STREET SIGNS IN CORAL GABLES (e.g., DE SOTO), and even major
streets (e.g., GRANADA) at minor intersections, are on
small white cement block on the ground. YOU DON'T SEE BIG
SIGNS. Fortunately, CORAL GABLES is a very safe area. If you get
lost, You can stop to ask people for directions, unlike some
unsafe areas in Miami. Also, if you, for any remote chance,
get to areas where the signs are not at street corners on the
ground, you have probably exited CORAL GABLES.
Since the map may not be very clear, here are some pointers about the
streets that you need to locate:
1) LE JEUNE: shown solid, running N-S on the right portion, Name appears
at the bottom of the map.
2) CORAL WAY: Shown solid and partly in brown color, running E-W on the
upper part of the map. It changes name to MIRACLE MILE to the right
of LE JEUNE.
3) GRANDA: runs N-S. The name in not clear on the map, but this
is the street that is shown in brown north of Coral Way, in solid
south of CORAL WAY, and is in brown where it goes by green section
labeled as the Coral Gables Biltmore Golf Course (Actaully, you cannot see
the gold course from GRANADA since it is behind the houses on Granada).
GRANADA is the the second street after the street
that cuts Coral Way Diagonally.
4) DE SOTO: The Street that cuts CORAL WAY diagonally, and ends
at the Biltmore Hotel. DE SOTO, as shown, can be reached either from
CORAL WAY or from GRANADA at the Fountain.
5) ANASTASIA: The street, running E-W, that goes to Biltmore Hotel
from GRANADA.
The Biltmore Hotel is located at the northern part of the Coral Gables
Biltmore Golf Course. It is where the two curving roads on the
north edge of the green section on the map intesect.
Directions for drivers coming on I-95:
1) Take I-95 to Miami. Follow until it ends into US-1 (South
Dixie Highway) after downtown Miami.
2) Follow US-1 for about 3 miles.
3) Turn right onto BIRD Rd (heading West). You see this street,
running E-W on the lower part of the map. BIRD Rd. cuts US-1
at an angle, that is, to bear to the right from US-1.
4) Go past several main streets, including PONCE De LYON and
LE JEUNE. About 0.5 mile after Le Jeune, you get to the lights
at GRANADA. Turn right (heading North) on GRANADA.
5) You get to a stop sign at ANASTASIA in about 0.5 mile. Turn left
and you reach the hotel in about 0.25 miles.
